Prayer for the Week

"For this cause we also since the day we heard it do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might according to His glorious power unto all patience and long suffering with joyfulness. Giving thanks unto the Father, which has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear son: In whom we have redemption through His blood even of sins." — Colossians 1:9.

The Price Jesus Paid

Jesus gave His life so your sins could be forgiven. Jesus took a beating and shed His blood so you wouldn't have to go to Hell. Jesus went to hell himself so you don't have to.

Can You Afford To Pay the Price?

The Bible says that wage of sin is death, but what is this wage? Using today's definition, a wage is the sum total or cash amount for a job done. For example, the cost of groceries may be a total of one week's wage, and you have to ask yourself if want to exchange your hard labor for these particular items. Sinning is a similar concept. If you choose sinning before choosing God, are you willing to pay the price for this choice? Remember that if you choose sin, the cost is death. The alternative is choosing to receive the free gift of salvation. The choice is yours.
